Daily

The names and Daily and Daly in Ireland are among the thirty most frequently found in the country. It is derived from the O'Dalaigh Sept who were located in County Westmeath but who located branches in Counties Galway, Clare and Cork where the majority of descendants can still be found. Daly and all it's variants derive from the ancient Irish Gaelic surname, (O'Dalaigh). From an ancient ancestor, named Dalach. O'Dalaigh means grandson, and or descendents of Dalach. Dalach, derived from the Gaelic word "dal", meaning assemblyman.
